Give New Metal a Beautifully Aged Finish
JAX Green Patina creates the distinctive blue-green finish associated with naturally aged copper, brass, and bronze. It is a cold-applied liquid patina, so you can develop an authentic verdigris-style surface without heating the metal.

Unlike instant blackeners, Green Patina develops gradually. Apply it in thin coats and allow each application to dry completely. Additional coats can be added until you achieve anything from a light weathered tint to a more dramatic aged finish.

Why We Like It
* Creates an authentic green patina on copper, brass, and bronze
* Cold-applied. No torch or heated metal required
* Multiple coats can be used to build color and texture
* Works especially well on textured, stamped, and dimensional metal
* May be used over a darkened surface for greater depth
* Made in the USA
* Sold in a 2 fl. oz. bottle

How to Use
1. Remove all lacquer, wax, oil, grease, and other coatings from the metal.
2. Wash the surface thoroughly and allow it to dry.
3. Wearing gloves and eye protection, apply JAX Green Patina to cool metal with a stiff-bristle brush.
4. Continue brushing until a dull film develops. This indicates that the patina has begun reacting with the metal.
5. Allow the piece to air-dry completely. Do not rinse.
6. Additional coats may be applied to deepen the finish. For best results, allow approximately 24 hours of drying time between coats.
7. When the desired finish has developed, it may be left as-is or protected with an appropriate wax, oil, or clear lacquer.

For additional depth and contrast, the metal may first be treated with a compatible JAX darkener before applying Green Patina.

Important Tips
* Use full strength; do not dilute.
* Apply with a brush. Dipping is not recommended.
* Do not apply to hot metal.
* The product must contact bare metal to work properly. It will not react through lacquer or another protective coating.
* Results will vary according to the alloy, surface preparation, application, and number of coats.
* Test on a small or inconspicuous area before treating the entire piece.
* Use only plastic or glass application containers.
* Do not return used solution to the original bottle or mix it with other chemicals.
