FDJ Micromotor & Premium Abrasive Starter Kit
An affordable micromotor. Some seriously good abrasives. A whole lot of possibilities.
Getting started with a micromotor shouldn't require spending a small fortune. And just because you're buying an economical motor doesn't mean you should have to settle for bargain-basement abrasives.
We've put together this FDJ Micromotor & Premium Abrasive Starter Kit to give you an affordable rotary tool along with a handpicked assortment of quality finishing and polishing accessories from EVE and Dedeco, two respected names in jewelry abrasives.
The micromotor provides a compact, convenient way to handle a variety of jewelry-making tasks, while the included abrasives let you experiment with different materials, grits, and polishing techniques right out of the box.
From smoothing rough surfaces and refining edges to removing scratches and bringing metal to a beautiful finish, this kit gives you an opportunity to explore several different approaches without purchasing full packages of every abrasive.

Why We Put This Kit Together
There are plenty of inexpensive micromotors on the market. What makes this kit different is the selection of abrasives we've included.
Rather than throwing in a handful of generic grinding stones and calling it a starter kit, we've paired an economical motor with quality abrasives that jewelers actually use.
It's a practical introduction for beginners, a convenient setup for hobbyists, or an affordable secondary rotary tool for lighter finishing tasks.

A Note About the Micromotor
Yes, the motor actually says “Nail Drill” on the housing.
That's because this style of economical micromotor is commonly marketed for nail care. Fortunately, the motor doesn't know whether it's working on fingernails or jewelry. We've paired it with quality jewelry-making abrasives to make a useful, affordable setup for light-duty bench work.
Just keep in mind that this is an economy micromotor, not a heavy-duty professional machine.
FDJ Tip: Start with the finest abrasive that will accomplish the job, and experiment on scrap metal to learn what each grit can do. You don't need to use every abrasive on every project. And don't worry about the words on the motor. It won't insist on giving your jewelry a manicure.
