Choose the stiffness that matches the task. Soft bristles are ideal for applying polishing compounds like rouge, white diamond, or Tripoli to delicate areas. Medium bristles offer a nice balance of cleaning and polishing, making them a great all-around choice for everyday bench work. Stiff bristles provide extra scrubbing action for removing oxidation, dirt, and stubborn polishing compound before the final polish.

FDJ Tip: Keep a separate wheel brush for each polishing compound. Tripoli, rouge, and white diamond all have their own jobs, and they get along much better when they each have their own brush.
