Griffith Prip’s Flux – Premixed Firescale Protection
Firescale has never improved a piece of jewelry. Griffith Prip’s Flux helps keep it from joining the project in the first place.

This traditional premixed firecoat is applied before soldering to help protect jewelry metals from oxidation, firecoat and firescale during heating. Because it arrives ready to use, there is no measuring dry ingredients, experimenting with recipes or discovering halfway through a job that today’s batch has opinions.

Prip’s Flux is used as a protective firecoat before applying your primary soldering flux. It is especially useful for jewelry fabrication, repair work and projects requiring repeated heating.

General Use
Begin with clean metal that is free of grease, oil and polishing residue. Apply Prip’s Flux to the areas requiring firescale protection according to the manufacturer’s directions. Apply your primary soldering flux to the joint and proceed with soldering.

Prip’s Flux serves as a protective firecoat and does not replace the primary flux used to promote solder flow at the joint.
