Garland Rawhide Mallets are used in metal working when the work cannot be marred. They were designed for use on broad-faced striking surfaces. A great use in the jewelry industry is for rounding ring shanks on steel mandrels. The heads are made of the finest quality, tough, long-wearing, water buffalo rawhide embedded in shellac.
The heads are held in place with screws, not nails or staples like cheaper import mallets. The handles are hickory. The handles also feature a green stripe at the end for easy identification.
These heads of the Weighted Rawhide Mallets are filled with lead to give you more leverage when striking. This makes them excellent for forming, bending and flattening without marring.
Garland Rawhide Mallets are constructed from the finest materials and workmanship. They are assembled by skilled craftsmen who specialize in non-marring striking tools. All Garland products are manufactured in the U.S.A.
